Member Training

Upon appointment, all members must complete an Operational Training School which includes Emergency Preparedness, Disaster management and Search & Rescue. All members must also receive some medical training - although most members have several such qualifications prior to joining.

Members train continually on scheduled sessions and also in extra curricular specialist courses such as Rope Rescue, Water Rescue, Working with Aircraft / Helicopters or Emergency Trauma Medicine.

Working to national standards where they exist (such at the Health & Safety Executive First Aid at Work (HSE FAW), RYA First Aid, VHF or Powerboat Operator, etc., we are capable of offering virtually all training in-house with qualified member instructors.  Where this is not the case, ERT Members will travel to train and upgrade their skills, experience and qualifications.

We have strategic partnerships with other agencies which allows for practical training and we offer a lot of this training to the public. Standard operational training modules for UK operators.
