Operational Training Course OTC (New – 070410)
DURATION: 5 days Or 1 Weekend /
2 and a half days Intensive Practicals (plus 1 week pre-study - usually Fri, Sat & Sunday)
Candidates need to receive full joining instructions a at least 14 days before hand.
ERT SAR: You will be given 2 manuals for the course to work from.
FITNESS TEST
NB: Those who wish to have the fitness endorsement on their certificate - please be away we may also run this test during the course. It is 2 miles flat and roadway and 3.1 miles on hilly varied terrain - including grass and mud. You will have 2 hours to complete in full belt kit (but not necessarily wearing grab bags but should be able to.) Most candidates will come in around an hour to an hour and a half. If this is a problem it will not necessarily preclude you from completing the course but you will not get the fitness passed - endorsement.

Additional Medical:
SAR Based medical training modules
ERT SAR Members will require Medical Training (provided inhouse or taken on equivalency) to become full members.
Also - ERT SAR members are required to pass the uniform and equipment components of the course including boots, dress, belt kit, deportment and standard equipment.
Test: Written & Practical Evaluation (Pass mark 75%)
Probation: 1 year
Experience: 10 Call Outs / Events / Duties
NB: Visitors / Observers / Candidates completing this course from other teams may be exempted from certain ERT Standards or may opt-in to received those components.
