CAR KIT

Survival for 72 hours for the family

Your EPK should take care of your 5 survival needs for at least a day and preferably your family’s needs for 3 to 5 days.

Car Survival Equipment Kit

  • Emergency food pack (consider MRE / Camping / Military rations which do not require the use of a cooker)

  • Some food snacks

    • i.e. nuts, chocolate, drink cartons etc., in sealable plastic container

  • Axe or hatchet

  • Multipurpose knife

  • Various common Tools (mini car tool)

  • Booster cables (invest in a thick set not cheap thin ones)

  • Consider a battery pack car booster with pneumatic tyre pump

  • Can of pump weld resealing tyre inflation

  • Electrical Tape

  • Duct Tape (Instead of using whole roll – wrap lots on old plastic card)

  • Ice scraper and brush

  • Check your spare tyre

  • Check the jack and ability to change tyre

  • Compass

  • Road maps

  • Matches / Lighter

  • 'Survival' candle in a deep can (could use to warm hands, heat a drink or use as an emergency light)

  • Fire extinguisher (multi purpose)

  • Methyl hydrate (for fuel line and windshield de-icing)

  • Torch / flashlight

  • First-aid kit with common medication & personal meds

  • Seatbelt cutter in front cab to hand

  • Shovel

  • Sand, salt or kitty litter

  • Traction mats

  • Tow chain / Rope

  • Bungee elastic cords with hooks

  • Cloth or roll of paper towels

  • Baby wipes (good for cleaning oneself or interior or car like dashboard)

  • Warning light or road flares

  • Extra clothing and footwear

  • Blanket
